The first battle from KOTD’s World Domination 2 event pits one of the world’s most acclaimed battle MCs against a Canadian hip hop legend. San Jose’s DirtBag Dan is a longtime veteran of the worldwide battle scene, having competed in leagues such as Grind Time, Flip Top, Basementality and Don’t Flop on his way to earning a nearly spotless record. His opponent, MadChild of the iconic Swollen Members, is making a return to battling after years of touring the world and selling enough records to firmly cement his status as one of the most successful rappers in Canada’s history. Cultivating vastly different styles, DirtBag seeks to overpower MadChild with his competition tailored bars and delivery, while the Swollen Members veteran fires back with intricate schemes layered with meaning and depth.
