1st RECORDING OF: Come On Down To My Boat – Rare Breed (1966)

Note from the label that this original version was shown by the title “Come And Take A Ride In My Boat,” even though that phrase doesn’t match the song’s lyric. The group Every Mother’s Son changed it to “Come On Down To My Boat” for their top-10 45 single release the following year (listen here:

Per “The Originals Project” website, “Come And Take A Ride In My Boat” was actually recorded first by Chubby Checker, but has never been released.

The original 45rpm single was issued on Attack 1403 – Come And Take A Ride In My Boat (Wes Farrell-Jerry Goldstein) by The Rare Breed, produced by Kasenetz-Katz-Chiprut, released September 1966
